After nearly 10 days apart, we were finally reunited today! Marc arrived at the hostel around lunch time after a flight down from Calama in northern Chile. It was great to finally talk English to an English person after the time travelling on my own. Marc’s old housemate from university Jonty also arrived in Santiago today, so the three of us had an appropriate catch up about our individual travels.

The rest of the afternoon was a quiet one, since it was raining on and off so we couldn’t do the walking tour. We still went for a wander near the hostel though, and we saw some interesting sculptures in a park by the river. On the way back I saw my first great sunset of the trip, with the clouds clearing and the sun shining on the mountains in the distance.

That was about it for today – hopefully tomorrow we can go on the walking tour and find out more about the city’s historical buildings. In the evening we self-catered in the hostel and then went out to a local club.
